History

The company was founded in 1985 under the name Coast Ballet Theater. Anaheim Ballet was named the resident ballet company of the city by Anaheim's City Council in 1997. As of 2012, the company is led by co-directors Lawrence Rosenberg and Sarma Lapenieks Rosenberg.

In addition to regular performances and classes, Anaheim Ballet also runs an educational outreach program called STEP-UP!, that offers training to beginners as well as advanced students, with special no-cost accommodations made for under-privileged students.
