He lost both of his parents at the age of 11. Following their deaths, Sehrawat and his younger sister, Puja, were taken in by their uncles. His uncle Sudhir revealed in an interview with ''

Career
In 2022, following his gold medal at the Under-23 Asian Championships, Sehrawat became the first-ever Indian to win a gold medal at the
Under-23 World Championships.
Sehrawat won his first National Championship title in 2021. He used to train under coach Lalit Kumar.
In April 2023, he won the gold medal at the
2023 Asian Wrestling Championships in Astana.
He then won a bronze medal in
the 57 kg category at the
2022 Asian Games
