Biography

In 1968, she graduated from the
Turkmen State Medical Institute Turkmen State Medical University named after Myrat Garryev () is a Turkmen medical university. Founded in 1931, it is the only medical university in Turkmenistan with more than 3,000 students. It is located in Ashgabat. The university reports to ...
with the degree Candidate of Medical Sciences. She served as Deputy Minister of Public Health from 1985 to 1991 and Minister of Public Health from 1991 to 1994; from 1994 to 1995, she was both Minister of Social Security and President of the Trade Unions of Turkmenistan. She joined the ruling Democratic Party in 1992 and became a member of the People's Council in 1993. Since January 1994, she has served as the permanent representative of Turkmenistan to the United Nations.
