Appointment as UPSC Chairman

On 13 May 2025, Dr. Ajay Kumar was appointed as the Chairperson of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) by the President of India, in accordance with Article 316(1) of the Constitution of India. He assumed charge on 15 May 2025, with the oath of office administered by Lt. Gen. Raj Shukla (Retd.), the senior-most member of the Commission at the time.
