Ahsanullah Montu (; 7 February 1962 – 26 June 2018) was a Bangladeshi

player and coach. He represented the Bangladesh national team from 1986 to 1989, and spent most of his club career playing for Mohammedan SC.


Club career

In 1981, Montu began his career in the Dhaka First Division League with

, Montu established himself as one of the best defenders in the country with the Black and Whites. He won the league title in 1986, 1987, 1988–89 and 1993. In 1988, he played for Mohammedan in India's Sait Nagjee Trophy. On 7 October 1988, Montu scored the equaliser in a 2–2 draw against Qatar's

He got a place in the Bangladesh U19 team while playing for

In the same year, he was part of the Mohammedan team which played as Bangladesh in the Nepal Panchayat Silver Jubilee Cup. He also represented the Bangladesh Red team in the 1987 and 1989 editions of the President's Gold Cup. He also played in the qualifiers for the

In 2014, Montu served as the head coach of the Bangladesh U12 team which participated in the U-12 Super Mokh Cup held in
