History
The club was founded in 1991 (1983 E.C.). Adama City briefly held the top spot late in the 2017–18 Ethiopian Premier League season before eventually finishing 5th. On August 4, 2018 the club hired Sisay Abraham as manager and Dawit Tadesse as assistant coach. In February 2021, the club hired Zeray Mulu as its manager.Stadium
The club's home ground is Abebe Bikila stadium (Adama), the second such stadium in the country to be named after Olympic marathon champion Abebe Bikila.Support
