. The larvae are parasitic. Species are called also chiggers, scrub itch-mite. The genus includes '' Acomatacarus arizonensis'' (lizards), '' Acomatacarus australiensis'' (humans, dogs), '' Acomatacarus galli'' (chickens, mice, rats, rabbits).
