Format

The tournament is the flagship tournament of the
American Junior Golf Association The American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) is a "501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf." AJGA is conside ...
. The field is made up of the top boys and girls on the AJGA Rankings, AJGA Junior All-Americans, award recipients, plus select invitees. The 44th edition in 2001 featured 144 of the best junior golfers in the world from 14 different countries.
