-sanctioned soccer in the United States. It is also the league's 20th anniversary of its founding in 2003.
The regular season began on March 25 and ended on July 9. In total, 94 teams participated in this season.
Format changes
The Pacific Conference split back into the Northwest and Southwest Conferences for the 2023 season. The Heartland Conference moved from the South Region to the Midwest, being joined by the newly created Gateway Conference. The Southeast Conference returned to the South Region after being moved the East in 2020. Finally, the Keystone Conference was split into East and West in the East Region.
