Format

Several changes have been made to the competition for 2012. The number of participating teams was increased from 30 to 32 and because of this, the defending champions and runners up in the first round would not receive byes as in previous seasons. Just like the previous edition, the first two rounds would be single matches. The quarter finals and semi finals would be played over two legs while the final will be played at
