. The tour started as the Satellite Tour with its first Order of Merit rankings in 1989 and was officially renamed as the Challenge Tour at the start of the 1990 season.

Pound sterling. The top 15 players on the tour earned status to play on the

The 1998 European Tour was the 27th official season of golf tournaments known as the PGA European Tour.
The season was made up of 33 tournaments counting for the Order of Merit, and several non-counting "Approved Special Events".
