The Military Administration in France (; ) was an Military Administration (Nazi Germany), interim occupation authority established by Nazi Germany during World War II to administer the occupied zone in areas of northern and western French Third Republic, France. This so-called ' was established in June 1940, and renamed ' ("north zone") in November 1942, when the previously unoccupied zone in the south known as ' ("free zone") was also occupied and renamed ' ("south zone"). Its role in France was partly governed by the conditions set by the Armistice of 22 June 1940 after the success of the leading to the Battle of France, Fall of France; at the time both French and Germans thought the occupation would be temporary and last only until Britain came to terms, which was believed to be imminent. ''The Zone'' is a live album by trombonist Paul Rutherford, bassist Torsten Müller, and drummer Harris Eisenstadt. It was recorded on January 21, 2006, at the Center for Contemporary Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and was released later that year by the German Konnex label. Reception The authors of '' The Penguin Guide to Jazz Recordings'' awarded the album a full 4 stars, calling it "superb," and praising the group's "great collective understanding." They described Müller as "the only European bassist who can currently aspire to Peter Kowald's crown," and noted that Eisenstadt's "quiet, concentrated approach adds hugely" to the recording. They stated that, on the opening track, "it is genuinely difficult to separate 'bone squeaks, Müller's creaking-branch effects and the delicate susurrus of Eisenstadt's kit. Zones were a Scottish power pop and new wave band founded in late 1977, following the demise of PVC2 (formerly the bubbleglam and soft rock band Slik). Career PVC2 consisted of Midge Ure (future Ultravox frontman) on guitar and vocals, Russell Webb on bass, Billy McIsaac on keyboards and Kenny Hyslop on drums. In late 1977, Ure left PVC2 to join Rich Kids with Glen Matlock. Then, Webb, Hyslop and McIsaac called in Alex Harvey's cousin Willie Gardner to replace Ure on guitar and vocals, and Zones was formed. In February 1978, Zones released a single " Stuck with You", which attracted the attention of BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel, leading to the band recording a session for his show. was an all-female rock band started in Sapporo, Japan, in 1997. It started as a dance group and turned into an all-female band. Zone has been categorized in a new genre called "bandol" (a portmanteau of the words "band" and " idol"). The band was started and managed by Studio RunTime and its first single, "Good Days", was released by the major record label Sony Records, on February 7, 2001.
