Women-only passenger cars are railway or subway cars intended for women only. They are a result of sexual segregation in some societies, often resulting from attempts to reduce sexual harassment and assault such as groping. Bōnenkai
A is a Japanese drinking party that takes place at the end of the year and is generally held among groups of co-workers or friends. The purpose of the party, as its name implies, is to forget the woes and troubles of the past year, and hopefully look to the new year, usually by consumption of large amounts of alcohol. A ''bōnenkai'' does not take place on any specific day, but they are usually held within December. ''Bōnenkai'' are observed by parties of friends or co-workers or sponsored by a company or business office for their employees. Indecent assault is an offence of aggravated assault in some common law-based jurisdictions. It is characterised as a sex crime and has significant overlap with offences referred to as sexual assault. ''Chikan'' (, , or ) is a Japanese language, Japanese term for sexual harassment or other obscene acts conducted against the victim's will, or a person who commits such an act.
