Women's football in Turkey is the women's association football, women's branch of football in Turkey and is governed by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF). History Friendship matches Although Turkey is one of the first countries to adapt women's rights, its practical realization in every part of the society took time. Due to differentiation in the society between men's and women's sports, Turkish women fell behind men in sports. The slogan "football is a men's sport" caused that women were not interested in football in the early days. This incorrect assessment and approach hindered that the number of participants in women's football, like women audience, women footballers, women coaches, women managers and women referees, did not reach the desired level. 1976 Çaldıran–Muradiye Earthquake
The 1976 Çaldıran–Muradiye earthquake occurred at 14:22 local time (12:22 UTC) on 24 November. The epicenter was located near Çaldıran, 20 km northeast of Muradiye, in the Van Province of eastern Turkey. The earthquake had a magnitude of 7.3 with a maximum intensity of X (''Extreme'') on the Mercalli intensity scale. The area of severe damage, where over 80% of the buildings were destroyed, covered an area of 2,000 square kilometres. There were between 4,000 and 5,000 casualties. Tectonic setting The easternmost part of Turkey lies within the complex zone of continuing continental collision between the Arabian plate and the Eurasian plate. Turkish Women's Football First League
The Turkish Women's First Football League () is the second-tier league competition for women's association football in Turkey. It was the first tier female football competition until the establishment of the Turkish Women's Football Super League in 2022. Format In an effort to increase quality of the league, in the 2009–10 season two teams were relegated and four teams were promoted to the first league. Thus, the 2010–11 season consisted of twelve teams. Fashion One TV became the official media sponsor of the league for the 2010–11 season. At this time the league gained little attention in Turkey. After playing two groups with six teams and then having a championship and relegation group, the 2012–13 season was played as a double-round robin with ten teams again. Dinarsuspor was a women's football club based in Istanbul, Turkey. Dinarsuspor was founded in 1991 by six women's footballers, who left Dostluk Spor. The team was the women's football side of the same-named club, which was established in 1982 by the carpeting and artificial turf producer Dinarsu. With the establishment of the Turkish Women's Football League by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) in 1994, the team started to play regular matches. The team became champion already in the first ever league season in 1994. The team repeated their success in a row in the following three seasons also. İzmir Alsancak Stadium
The Alsancak Mustafa Denizli Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in İzmir, Turkey used mostly for football (soccer), football matches. The stadium has a capacity of 15,000 and was built in 1929.
