The Silver Line is a rapid transit line of the Washington Metro system, consisting of 34 Metro station, stations in Loudoun County, Virginia, Loudoun County, Fairfax County, Virginia, Fairfax County and Arlington County, Virginia, Arlington County, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Prince George's County, Maryland, Prince George's County, Maryland. Capital Transit Company
Streetcars in Washington, D.C. transported people across the city and region from 1862 until 1962. Potomac Yard station is a Washington Metro Metro station, station in Alexandria, Virginia, United States. It is operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), serving both the Blue Line (Washington Metro), Blue and Yellow Line (Washington Metro), Yellow Lines, and opened on May 19, 2023. Metro Transit Police Department
The Metro Transit Police Department (MTPD) is the transit police agency of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), created by the WMATA Compact on June 4, 1976. The MTPD is unique in U.S. law enforcement as it is the only U.S. police agency that has full police authority in relation to a multi-state metro system. Randy Clarke (born ) is the general manager and CEO of Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, beginning July 25, 2022. He is also currently serving as the legacy system representative on the American Public Transportation Association Executive Committee. Early life and career Clarke grew up in Pictou, Nova Scotia. The Capital Traction Company was the smaller of the two major street railway companies in Washington, D.C., in the early 20th century. It was formed in 1895 when the Rock Creek Railway acquired the Washington and Georgetown Railroad Company. MetroAccess is a shared-ride public transportation service for individuals in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area who are unable to use fixed-route public transit due to disability.
