A vertical jump or vertical leap is the act of jumping upwards into the air. Dudley Allen Sargent (September 29, 1849 – July 21, 1924) was an American educator, lecturer and director of physical training. Biography Dudley Allen Sargent was born in Belfast, Maine on September 29, 1849, the son of Benjamin Sargent, a ship carpenter and sparmaker, and Caroline Rogers Sargent.
