Vents (musician)
Joseph Lardner, better known by the stage name Vents and also known as Vents One, Vents 1 and Vents Uno, is an Australian hip hop artist from Adelaide, South Australia. He has released two albums, 2007's ''Hard to Kill'' and 2011's ''Marked for Death''. The latter was nominated for an ARIA Music Awards, ARIA Music Award. Early life Joseph Lardner was born in Adelaide in 1983 and left university placements on two occasions without completion. Vents was involved with Adelaide's graffiti sub-culture before commencing as a Master of ceremonies#Hip hop, MC around 1997. A ventilator is a type of breathing apparatus, a class of medical technology that provides mechanical ventilation by moving breathable air into and out of the lungs, to deliver breaths to a patient who is physically unable to breathe, or breathing insufficiently. Ventilators may be computerized microprocessor-controlled machines, but patients can also be ventilated with a simple, hand-operated bag valve mask. Hydrothermal vents are fissures on the seabed from which geothermally heated water discharges. They are commonly found near volcanically active places, areas where tectonic plates are moving apart at mid-ocean ridges, ocean basins, and hotspots. The dispersal of hydrothermal fluids throughout the global ocean at active vent sites creates hydrothermal plumes. Hydrothermal deposits are rocks and mineral ore deposits formed by the action of hydrothermal vents. Hydrothermal vents exist because the Earth is both geologically active and has large amounts of water on its surface and within its crust. Ventrilo (or Vent for short) is a proprietary VoIP software that includes text chat. The Ventrilo client and server are both available as freeware for use with up to 8 people on the same server. Rented servers can maintain up to 400 people. The Ventrilo server is available under a limited license for Microsoft Windows and macOS and is accessible on FreeBSD Kopi, Solaris and NetBSD. Étienne Pierre Ventenat
Étienne Pierre Ventenat (1 March 1757 – 13 August 1808) was a French botanist born in Limoges. He was the brother of naturalist Louis Ventenat (1765–1794). While employed as director of the ecclesiastic library Sainte-Geneviève in Paris, Ventenat took a trip to England. Here he investigated the country's botanical gardens, inspiring him to pursue a vocation in sciences. Following his time at library he became an active botanist, studying under and collaborating with botanist Charles Louis L'Héritier de Brutelle (1746–1800). In 1795 he was elected a member of the ''Institut national des sciences et des arts'', later known as the ''Académie des sciences''. In 1794 he wrote a treatise on the principles of botany titled . Vent (EP)
The ''Vent EP'' was the first official release by English punk–rock band Sounds of Swami. After several years of recording demos, the band finally entered the studio with Tim Gray (aka TimG) in Manchester. Recorded in two sessions, "Identity Crisis" and "BANK!" were recorded in a single day in late 2007 after a period of unsuccessful recording at another studio. The unsuccessful recordings were intended to be the band's debut mini-album titled ''Real to Reel'' due to the studio's all- analogue setup. After recording the two tracks, the mini album was scrapped and three more tracks were recorded with TimG in early 2008 over two days. Two surviving recordings from the scrapped mini album were added as bonus demos on the end of the EP. The band decided not to pursue a recording contract and instead released the EP on their own record label Drawing Board Records. A drain-waste-vent system (or DWV) is the combination of pipes and plumbing fittings that captures sewage and greywater within a structure and routes it toward a water treatment system. It includes venting to the exterior environment to prevent a vacuum from forming and impeding plumbing fixture, fixtures such as sinks, showers, and toilets from draining freely, and employs water-filled trap (plumbing), traps to block dangerous sewer gasses from entering a plumbed structure. DWV systems capture both sewage and greywater within a structure and safely route it out via the low point of its "soil stack" to a waste treatment system, either via a municipal sanitary sewer system, or to a septic tank and septic drain field, leach field. In subterranean civil engineering, ventilation shafts, also known as airshafts or vent shafts, are vertical passages used in mines and tunnels to move fresh air underground, and to remove stale air. In architecture, an airshaft, also known as a lightwell, is typically a small, vertical space within a tall building which permits ventilation of the building's interior spaces to the outside. The floor plan of a building with an airshaft is often described as a "square donut" shape. Alternatively, an airshaft may be formed between two adjacent buildings.
