Lily Venson
Lily Pagratis Venson (October 24, 1924 – June 27, 2011) is an American journalist and was a resident of Chicago her entire life. She attended Wilbur Wright College and Columbia College Chicago. She began writing for Lerner Newspapers at the Rogers Park office in 1962 and was an award-winning journalist and feature writer for the Lerner newspapers. She left the paper in 1973 to work as head of public relations for Cook County Hospitals. During her years at Lerner, she received numerous press awards including a nomination for the Pulitzer Prize by Columbia University and the City of New York, for a series of more than 100 articles she wrote on the crusade to preserve 100 acres of private golf land to create Lawrence C. Warren State Park in West Rogers Park in Chicago. For her coverage of this landmark event she was awarded a plaque of recognition in 1972 by Gov. of Illinois Richard Ogilvie. Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi
Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi is a Botswana journalist and politician who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Botswana from 2014 until December 2018. She was appointed to the National Assembly of Botswana in 1999 as one of the four specially selected members and was re-elected in the 2004 general elections. Venson-Moitoi was the Minister of Works, Transport and Communications from 2001 to 2002 and Minister of Trade, Industry, Wildlife and Tourism from 2002 to 2004. She was appointed as the Minister of Communications, Science, and Technology in 2004. In the 2009 cabinet, Venson-Moitoi was appointed Minister of Communications, Science and Technology, and later she was appointed as Minister of Education. Shad Venson Hamilton (born August 11, 1977) is an American former professional basketball player. College career A graduate of East Rutherford High School in Forest City, North Carolina, Hamilton played college basketball at the University of Nebraska, where he played with the Nebraska Cornhuskers men's basketball team. He holds school records for most blocked shots (241), and most rebounds (1,080), surpassing the previous record by nearly 300. He ranks ninth on the school's all-time scoring chart with 1,416 career points. He shot 52.7% from the field throughout his career.
