Veltuzumab
Veltuzumab is a monoclonal antibody (targeted at CD20) which is being investigated for the treatment of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. , it is undergoing Phase I/II clinical trials. When used with milatuzumab it showed activity. This drug was developed by Immunomedics, Inc. and was originally known as IMMU-106. CD20
B-lymphocyte antigen CD20 or CD20 is B lymphocyte cell-surface molecule. It is a 33-37 kDa non-glycosylated protein. CD20 is expressed on the surface of B-cells from the pre-B phase, the expression is lost in terminally differentiated plasma cells. CD20 is used as a therapeutical target of B-cell malignancies and autoimmune diseases. Gene In humans CD20 is encoded by the ''MS4A1'' gene localized to 11q12. The gene is 16 kbp long and consists of 8 exons. There are at least 3 mRNA transcripts (resulting from alternative splicing), that are all translated into an identical full-length CD20 protein product. Immunomedics was a biotechnology company focused on the development of antibody-drug conjugates for the treatment of cancer. In 2020, the company was acquired by Gilead Sciences. History Immunomedics was founded in July 1982 by David M. Goldenberg. Michael Pehl was named CEO in December 2017 but left for personal reasons in February 2019. A monoclonal antibody (mAb, more rarely called moAb) is an antibody produced from a Lineage (evolution), cell lineage made by cloning a unique white blood cell.
