Hebrew (; ''ʿÎbrit'') is a Northwest Semitic languages, Northwest Semitic language within the Afroasiatic languages, Afroasiatic language family. ''Divergent'' is the debut novel of American novelist Veronica Roth, published by HarperCollins Children's Books in 2011. The first in the Divergent series, a trilogy of young adult dystopian novels (plus a book of short stories), the novel is set in a post-apocalyptic Chicago, where society defines its citizens by their social and personality-related affiliation with one of five factions. This rigid system has removed the threat of anyone exercising independent will and re-threatening the population's safety. In the story, Beatrice Prior joins the ranks of the Dauntless faction and explores her new identity as "Tris". Underlying the action- and dystopian-focused main plot is a romantic subplot between Tris and "Four", one of her instructors in the Dauntless faction. Uriah, Alabama
Uriah (pronounced, in the local English dialect, "you-rye") is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in Monroe County, Alabama. Uriah is located at the junction of State Route 21 and State Route 59. As of the 2020 census, its population was 263, down from 294 at the 2010 census. Demographics History The area was settled around the 1870s after the United States government had forcibly removed a majority of the American Indians to west of the Mississippi River. Anglo-Americans, and other Caucasians with predominantly Creek mixture, settled the area, clearing timber and developing farms. When Uriah was full of virgin timber it was originally named Maros. The first three families to own property between Jeddo Road (located in Uriah) and the Atmore city limits were the Hollingers, Dees and Lomaxes. Uriah Tracy (February 2, 1755July 19, 1807) was an American lawyer and politician from Connecticut. He served in the US House of Representatives (1793 to 1796) and the US Senate (1796 to 1807). From May to November 1800, Tracy served as President pro tempore of the United States Senate. Youth, family life and early career Tracy was born in Franklin in the Connecticut Colony. In his youth, he received a liberal education. His name is listed among those in a company from Roxbury that responded to the Lexington Alarm at the beginning of the American Revolutionary War. He later served in the Roxbury Company as a clerk. In 1778, Tracy graduated from Yale University, his contemporaries including Noah Webster. Uriah Smith Stephens (August 3, 1821 – February 13, 1882) was an American labor leader. He was most notable for his leadership of nine Philadelphia garment workers in founding the Knights of Labor in 1869, a successful early American labor union. Born in New Jersey, and initially educated for the ministry, Stephens was apprenticed as a tailor when he was a teenager so that he could help support his family. He settled in Philadelphia, where he continued to work at his trade. After extensive travel throughout the western United States, Mexico, and Europe in the late 1840s and early 1850s, he returned to Philadelphia, where he worked as a tailor and became active in fraternal organizations and the labor movement. Uriah Smith
Uriah Smith (May 3, 1832 – March 6, 1903) was a Seventh-day Adventist author, minister, educator, and theologian who is best known as the longest serving editor of the ''Review and Herald'' (now the '' Adventist Review'') for over 50 years. Some of Smith's lesser-known contributions include his work as a poet, hymn writer, inventor, and engraver. He patented an idea for an early automobile, called Horsey Horseless, which had a fake horse head attached to the front, intended to stop horses from being frightened by the car. He also patented an artificial leg with a moveable ankle, a school desk with an improved folding seat and several other inventions and improvements. Uriah Rennie
Uriah Duddley Rennie (23 October 1959 – 7 June 2025) was an English football referee. He was the first black referee to officiate in the Premier League, and officiated over 300 Premier League matches between 1997 and 2008. Outside of football, he was a magistrate in Sheffield and briefly served as chancellor of Sheffield Hallam University in 2025. Early life Uriah Duddley Rennie was born on 23 October 1959 in Jamaica. He moved to Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, at the age of six. Refereeing Rennie began refereeing in 1979 in local leagues, then operated in the Northern Premier League until 1994, at which time he was appointed to The Football League list of referees. The Premier League's first black referee, he was given his first appointment in the competition on 13 August 1997, overseeing a game between Derby County and Wimbledon.
