Umphrey's McGee
Umphrey's McGee, sometimes stylized as UM, is an American rock band originally from South Bend, Indiana. The band experiments with many musical styles, including rock, metal, funk, jazz, blues, reggae, electronic, bluegrass, country, and folk. They have toured regularly and released several albums. Since 2002, they have been the headlining act and organizers of Summer Camp Music Festival, which is held annually in Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, Illinois. History Early years (1997–2000) Formed by students at the University of Notre Dame in December 1997, members were guitarist/ vocalist Brendan Bayliss, Johnzo West, Jeff Topp, bassist Ryan Stasik, keyboardist Joel Cummins, and drummer Mike Mirro. Chainey Umphrey
Albert Chainey Umphrey (born August 2, 1970) is a retired American gymnast. He was a member of the United States men's national artistic gymnastics team and competed in the 1996 Summer Olympics, helping the U.S. team to a 5th-place finish in the team all-around. Early life Umphrey was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on August 2, 1970, and took up gymnastics at age 7. He attended Albuquerque Academy and graduated in 1988. While in Albuquerque, he trained at Gold Cup Gymnastics along with future Olympians Lance Ringnald and Trent Dimas. Career Umphrey competed in college gymnastics at UCLA, where he was an All-American and two-time team captain. He was a member of the U.S. national team from 1989 to 1997, competing at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in 1991, 1994, and 1996. His best result was a 4th-place finish on the horizontal bar in 1994. He also won a gold medal for the team all-around at the 1995 Pan American Games. Umphrey Lee
Umphrey Lee (March 23, 1893 – June 23, 1958) was a Methodism, Methodist theologian and historian who served as the fourth president of Southern Methodist University from 1939 to 1954. Lee, who had been SMU's first undergraduate student body president, succeeded religious hard-liner Charles Claude Selecman, C. C. Selecman, and is remembered for fostering an intellectual environment conducive to free research and learning. Along with Dean Merrimon Cuninggim, he was also the driving force behind the effort to begin desegregating SMU in 1952—years before other southern colleges and fellow Methodist universities, Duke University and Emory University. Richard Vernon Umphrey III (born December 13, 1958) is an American former professional football player who was an offensive lineman in the National Football League (NFL). He played professionally in the National Football League (NFL) for the New York Giants (1982–1984) and the San Diego Chargers (1985). He graduated from Tustin High School in Tustin, California and went on to play at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He was selected in the fifth round of the 1982 NFL draft by the New York Giants as the starting center. He played three seasons for the Giants before being traded in 1985 to the San Diego Chargers.
