Hakata Bay
is a bay in the northwestern part of Fukuoka city, on the Japanese island of Kyūshū. It faces the Tsushima Strait, and features beaches and a port, though parts of the bay have been reclaimed in the expansion of the city of Fukuoka. The bay is perhaps most famous for the Mongol invasions of Japan of 1274 and 1281 which took place nearby; both invasions are sometimes referred to as the "Battle of Hakata Bay." Geography The Bay is defined by shoal Umi-no-nakamichi and tombolo Shika-no-shima (Shika Island) to the north, and ''Genkai-jima'' ( Genkai Island) to the northwest, and the Itoshima Peninsula to the west. Ugu District Municipality
Ugu is one of the 11 districts of KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. ''Ugu'' is Zulu for "coast". It governs the KZN South Coast and its seat is Port Shepstone. The majority of its 722,484 people speak IsiZulu (2011 Census). The district code is DC21. The largest towns in the municipality are Port Shepstone, Margate, Umzinto, Scottburgh and Harding. Geography The boundaries of the Ugu District Municipality which covers an area of 5866 square kilometres, coincide with the boundaries of the geographical area of the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast. ''Telfairia occidentalis'' is a tropical vine grown in West Africa as a leaf vegetable and for its edible seeds. Common names for the plant include fluted gourd, fluted pumpkin, ugu (in the Igbo language), okwukwo-wiri (in Ikwerre language), and ikong-ubong (in the Efik and Ibibio languages). Kituwa
Kituwa (also spelled Kituwah, Keetoowah, Kittowa, Kitara and other similar variations) or ''giduwa'' (Cherokee: ᎩᏚᏩ) is an ancient Native American settlement near the upper Tuckasegee River, and is claimed by the Cherokee people as their original town. An earthwork platform mound, built about 1000 CE, marks a ceremonial site here. The historic Cherokee built a townhouse on top that was used for their communal gatherings and decisionmaking; they replaced it repeatedly over decades. They identify Kituwa as one of the "seven mother towns" in their traditional homeland of the American Southeast. This site is in modern Swain County, North Carolina, in the Great Smoky Mountains. is a fictional character and the main heroine in Key (company), Key's Eroge, adult visual novel ''Kanon (visual novel), Kanon'', followed closely by List of Kanon characters#Nayuki Minase, Nayuki Minase who is the only ''Kanon'' heroine to appear with Ayu on three of the official game covers released by Key. Cysteine (symbol Cys or C; ) is a semiessential proteinogenic amino acid with the formula . The thiol side chain in cysteine often participates in enzymatic reactions as a nucleophile. The Thiviers-Payzac Unit is a metasedimentary succession of late Neoproterozoic and Cambrian age outcropping in the southern Limousin in France. The unit geologically forms part of the Variscan basement of the northwestern Massif Central. Terminology The Thiviers-Payzac Unit, sometimes still called ''Thiviers-Payzac Nappe'' or ''Bas-Limousin Group'', was named after Thiviers and Payzac, two small towns in the northeastern Dordogne situated within the unit's outcrop area. The term nappe is somewhat misleading. Geography Geographically the Thiviers-Payzac Unit belongs to the Bas-Limousin (southern Limousin), a plateau peneplained during the Eocene and whose elevation barely reaches above 400 metres.
