Ryan Tubridy
Ryan Tubridy (born 28 May 1973), nicknamed 'Tubs ' is an Irish broadcaster. He presents ''The Ryan Tubridy Show'' and ''The Late Late Show''. Tubridy previously presented RTÉ 2fm breakfast radio show '' The Full Irish'', which at its end was the second most popular radio programme in Ireland. For five seasons from 2004 until 2009, he presented the Saturday night TV chat show '' Tubridy Tonight'' on RTÉ One. A tub boat was a type of unpowered cargo boat used on a number of the early English and German canals. The English boats were typically long and wide and generally carried to of cargo, though some extra deep ones could carry up to . They are also called compartment boats or container boats. The main virtue of tub boats was their flexibility. They could be drawn in trains of 3-10 or more boats using horse power, or later steam tugs, where the number of boats was varied according to the type of cargo. A forge is a type of hearth used for heating metals, or the workplace (smithy) where such a hearth is located. A tub or quarry tub is a type of railway or tramway wagon used in quarries and other industrial locations for the transport of minerals (such as coal, sand, ore, clay and stone) from a quarry or mine face to processing plants or between various parts of an industrial site. Tub File
The tub file was a technique used in the punched card era to speed generation of data files. Multiple copies of frequently used cards were prepunched and stored in trays with index tabs between card sets, arranged so that cards would be easy to find. This technique was an early form of random access memory. Example A wholesaler might have a tub file with cards for frequent customers and for each inventory item. Instead of keypunching a set of cards for each purchase order, a clerk would pull out one customer card and then a card for each item that customer ordered. The resulting deck could then be run through a tabulating machine to produce an invoice. In this example item cards also provided inventory control, since each card presumably represented one item in stock, so it was simple to check availability and schedule reordering.
