Tribal guarachero, also known as trival, is a music genre that fuses electronic dance music with cumbia or certain rhythms from regional Mexican music genres. Tribal guarachero is sometimes referred to as "3ball". Despite the similarity between the letter "b" and "v" in Spanish, it should not be confused with tribal house or tecnocumbia music. History The style originated from the lower and middle-class neighborhoods of Mexico City in 2000 and 2001. It then moved to Monterrey, Nuevo León, in 2007, before expanding to the United States in 2008. 3BallMTY (pronounced "Tribal Monterrey") is a Mexican pop DJ group from the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. The "DJ Collective" (the name its members have formally given themselves) was formed in 2009 by two teenage DJs – Sergio Zavala (DJ Sheeqo Beat), and Alberto Presenda (DJ Otto). The name "3Ball" comes from the Spanish word "tribal", which refers to the culture of guaracha tribal music popular in many Spanish-speaking countries around the world. "Pepas" is a guaracha song by Puerto Rican rapper and singer-songwriter Farruko from his studio album '' La 167''. It was released as single on June 24, 2021, via Sony Music Latin. It reached No. 25 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and number one on the US Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, becoming Farruko's highest-charting single to date. An official remix was released by David Guetta. Background Farruko called the song, a "total experiment".
