The Wanted
The Wanted are a British-Irish boy band formed in 2009, and originally consisted of members Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker, and Nathan Sykes. The group signed a worldwide contract to Universal Music, Island Records and Mercury Records, and was managed by Scooter Braun. The Wanted's released their debut album, '' The Wanted'' in 2010. It peaked at number four on the UK Albums Chart. and spawned three UK top 20 singles: their debut single, "All Time Low", which topped UK Singles Chart, " Heart Vacancy", which reached number two, and " Lose My Mind", which reached number nineteen. Their follow-up album '' Battleground,'' was released in 2011 and reached number five in the UK and number four in Ireland. Nathan Sykes
Nathan James Sykes (born 18 April 1993) is an English singer, best known as a member of the boy band The Wanted. In 2013, Sykes appeared with his bandmates in the E! channel reality television series '' The Wanted Life''. After the band's hiatus in 2014, Sykes embarked on a solo career. His debut single, " Kiss Me Quick" was released in July 2015. It reached number-one on the US Dance Club Songs chart. Early life Sykes was born on 18 April 1993 in Gloucester to Harry and Karen Sykes, who is a music teacher. He has a younger sister, Jessica Sykes, who is also a singer. He started singing and performing at the age of six and attended Sylvia Young Theatre School from the age of 11. Tom Parker (singer)
Thomas Anthony Parker (4 August 1988 – 30 March 2022) was an English singer, best known as a member of the boy band the Wanted. In 2013, Parker appeared with his bandmates in the E! channel reality television series '' The Wanted Life''. Alongside the Wanted, Parker released three studio albums and achieved two number one singles on the UK Singles Chart. After the band's hiatus in 2014, he embarked on a solo career. In October 2020, at the age of 32, Parker was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. The Wanted reunited in September 2021, but after a sudden deterioration in his condition, Parker died of complications from glioblastoma on 30 March 2022, at the age of 33. Maximillian Albert George (born 6 September 1988) is an English singer, best known as the lead singer of the boy band The Wanted. George started his career as a footballer, playing for Preston North End F.C., Preston North End. After an injury ended his football career, he decided to pursue a music career. George made his singing debut with the band Avenue (group), Avenue. After the group disbanded in 2009, George joined the newly formed band, The Wanted. "Gold Forever" is a dance-pop song by British-Irish boy band The Wanted. It was produced by Steve Mac, who also co-wrote the song with Wayne Hector and Claude Kelly. It is the band's fourth overall single, and was released as the lead single from their second studio album, ''Battleground'', on 13 March 2011, and later as a promo single from the band's 2012 American debut release, ''The Wanted (EP)''. "Heart Vacancy" is a song by British-Irish boy band the Wanted from their self-titled debut album. It was released as the album's second single in the United Kingdom on 17 October 2010 through Geffen Records. The song was written by Jonas Jeberg, Cutfather, Lucas Secon, and Wayne Hector. "Lose My Mind" is a pop song by British-Irish boy band The Wanted, taken as the third and final single from their self-titled debut album. It was written by Nina Woodford, Rami Yacoub and Carl Falk, and produced by Rami and Falk, with additional production by The Wideboys. It was released on 26 December 2010. Following a live performance of the song on the seventh series of ''The X Factor'', the song entered the UK Singles Chart at number 29. ''Battleground'' is the second studio album by British-Irish boy band the Wanted. It was released on 4 November 2011 through Island Records. Background In January 2011, the group began work on their second studio album with previous songwriter and producer Steve Mac. In February 2011, it was revealed the group would be releasing the official ''Comic Relief'' single for 2011. In April 2011, the group embarked on their first headline tour, playing 16 dates in 13 different UK cities. The tour was in support of their debut album '' The Wanted'' but whilst on tour, the group previewed the song, "Lightning" from their new album. The track was co-written by the band and Ed Drewett. Comic Relief is a British charity, founded in 1986 by the comedy scriptwriter Richard Curtis and comedian Sir Lenny Henry in response to the 1983–1985 famine in Ethiopia.
