The Vanns are an Australian indie rock band formed in 2012. They released their debut album in 2019. History 2012–2018: Formation and EPs The Vanns began as a jamming group in 2012 and went onto win the 2012 Red Bull Bedroom Jam, which gave them a placement with The Getaway Plan at the Sydney Hi-Fi, recording time in Melbourne with Jan Skubiszewski and a set at Homebake Homebake was an annual Australian rock festival, featuring an all-Australian lineup (with the occasional artist from New Zealand). Kiama, New South Wales
Kiama () is a coastal town 120 kilometres south of Sydney in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, Australia. One of the main tourist attractions is the Kiama Blowhole. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United Kingdom, United States and New Zealand in the early to mid-1980s. Triple J
Triple J is an Australian government-funded national radio station founded in 1975 as a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). It aims to appeal to young listeners of alternative music, and plays far more Australian content than commercial networks. The station was set up under the Gough Whitlam government, wanting to extend the appeal of the ABC to young Australians. Initially broadcasting as 2JJ or Double Jay from 19 January 1975, it stood apart from commercial stations with its lack of private advertising and its fringe music programming. Jan Skubiszewski (pronounced ; born 1981) is an Australian composer, record producer, songwriter and sound engineer from Melbourne, Australia. He is also a professional multi-instrumentalist. His work as a record producer and composer for film and television has resulted in numerous gold and number one records, won critical acclaim and numerous awards and nominations at ARIA, APRA, AIR, Film Critics Circle of Australia, Logie Awards, Screen Music Awards, National Indigenous Music Awards. Homebake
Homebake was an annual Australian rock festival, featuring an all-Australian lineup (with the occasional artist from New Zealand). The festival was first held on 3 January 1996 at Belongil Fields in Byron Bay, on the far north coast of New South Wales. The same year saw a second event held at the grounds of the University of Sydney. The festival returned in January 1998 as an East Coast event happening in Melbourne, the Gold Coast, Australia, Gold Coast and Sydney. In December of the same year, it was held again in Sydney this time at the The Domain, Sydney, Domain. In late 1999 the event went on the road again, but this time to only the Gold Coast, Queensland, Gold Coast and Sydney.
