Jules De Martino
Julian "Jules" De Martino (born 16 July 1967) is an English musician and a member of the indie pop duo the Ting Tings. Early life De Martino was born in West Ham, the son of Northern Irish mother, Rosemary (née Middleton), and Italian father, Benito De Martino. Jules has one older sister, Maria. He began playing drums at the age of 13. Musical projects Babakoto When he was 17, De Martino was the drummer and songwriter in a band called Babakoto (the babakoto is a rare lemur from Madagascar), who once played as a backing group for Bros and released a single at the end of 1987 called "Just to Get By", which failed to chart. Mojo Pin After Babakoto broke up De Martino became the lead singer in another indie band called Mojo Pin, named after the first song on Jeff Buckley's 1994 album ''Grace''. ''Sounds from Nowheresville'' is the second studio album by English indie pop duo the Ting Tings, released on 24 February 2012 by Columbia Records. The album was released almost four years after the band's debut and went through various concepts during its recording. The album was recorded over a period of eight months in the basement of an abandoned jazz club in the Friedrichshain area of Berlin. "Shut Up and Let Me Go" is the fifth single from English musical duo the Ting Tings' debut studio album, '' We Started Nothing'' (2008). The song was released in the United Kingdom on 21 July 2008, and was the follow-up to the number one hit single "That's Not My Name". The song was added to the coveted A-list of BBC Radio 1's playlist, and has received a substantial amount of airplay during the day on the station. The single peaked at number six in both the UK Singles Chart and the UK Download Chart.
