The Spencer Foundation
The Spencer Foundation was established in 1962 by Lyle M. Spencer. This foundation makes grants to support research in areas of education that are widely construed. It is currently led by Na'ilah Suad Nasir. Founder Lyle M. Spencer was the founder of The Spencer Foundation. Spencer grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin, and attended college in the Pacific Northwest. He received both an undergraduate degree and a master's degree in sociology from the University of Washington in Seattle, where his father served as president from 1927 to 1933. Spencer continued graduate work in sociology at the University of Chicago, where he co-founded the Science Research Associates, an educational publishing firm also known as SRA. Pancreatic Cancer
Pancreatic cancer arises when cell (biology), cells in the pancreas, a glandular organ behind the stomach, begin to multiply out of control and form a Neoplasm, mass. Na'ilah Suad Nasir
Na'ilah Suad Nasir is an educational researcher and the sixth president of the Spencer Foundation. She was president of the American Educational Research Association in 2021–22. Previously she held several named professorships, including the Birgeneau Chair in Educational Disparities and the H. Michael and Jeanne Williams Chair of African-American Studies at UC Berkeley, where she also served as the vice-chancellor of equity and inclusion. She has also taught as a faculty member at the Stanford Graduate School of Education. Science Research Associates (SRA), founded by Lyle Spencer in 1938, was a Chicago-based publisher of educational materials and schoolroom reading comprehension products.
