The Reddings
The Reddings were an American funk, Soul music, soul and disco band, founded by Otis Redding's sons Dexter (bass and vocals) and Otis Redding III (December 17, 1963 – April 18, 2023 age 59; guitar) together with Mark Lockett (drums, keyboards, and lead vocal). Their most well-known songs include "Remote Control (The Reddings song), Remote Control" (1980) / "Doin' it" / "Funkin on the One" / "Class (Is What You Got)" (1981) / "(Sittin' on) the Dock of the Bay, Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" (1982) / "Hand Dance" (1983) and "The Awakening" (1980), a bass-drums-duet which is often performed live by Les Claypool (Primus (band), Primus) and on his album ''Highball with the Devil''. Macon ( ), officially Macon–Bibb County, is a consolidated city-county in Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia, United States. The ''Billboard'' 200 is a record chart ranking the 200 most popular music albums and EPs in the United States. ''WKRP in Cincinnati'' is an American sitcom television series about the misadventures of the staff of a struggling fictional AM radio station in Cincinnati, Ohio. The show was created by Hugh Wilson. It was based upon his experiences observing at Top 40 radio station WQXI in Atlanta. Many of the characters were based on people at that station. Wilson once told ''The Cincinnati Enquirer'' that he selected WKRP as the call sign to stand for C-R-A-P. In sound and music, sampling is the reuse of a portion (or sample) of a sound recording in another recording. Samples may comprise elements such as rhythm, melody, speech, or sound effects. A sample might comprise only a fragment of sound, or a longer portion of music, such as a drum beat or melody. Samples are often layered, Equalization (audio), equalized, sped up or slowed down, repitched, Loop (music), looped, or otherwise manipulated. They are usually integrated using electronic music instruments (Sampler (musical instrument), samplers) or software such as digital audio workstations.
