The Party Boys
The Party Boys was an Australian rock supergroup with a floating membership commencing in 1982. Created by Mondo Rock's bass guitarist, Paul Christie, with founding member Kevin Borich (ex– La De Da's, Kevin Borich Express) as a part-time venture for professional musicians with downtime from their other projects; the group had temporary members from Status Quo, the Angels, Sherbet, Skyhooks, Rose Tattoo, the Choirboys, Australian Crawl, Divinyls, Models, Dragon and Swanee, plus international stars such as Joe Walsh, Eric Burdon, Alan Lancaster, and Graham Bonnet. In March 1983, their debut album, ''Live at Several 21sts'', peaked at No. 9 on the Australian Kent Music Report Albums Chart. In June 1987, they had a number-one hit on the related Singles Chart with a cover version of John Kongos' hit "He's Gonna Step On You Again". Dragon (band)
Dragon are a New Zealand rock band which was formed in Auckland in January 1972, and, from 1975, based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The band was originally fronted by singer Graeme Collins, but rose to fame with singer Marc Hunter and is currently led by his brother, bass player and co-founder Todd Hunter. The group performed, and released material, under the name Hunter in Europe and the United States during 1987. Keyboard player Paul Hewson wrote or co-wrote most of the group's 1970s hits: "April Sun in Cuba" peaked at No. 9 in New Zealand and No. 2 in Australia; " Are You Old Enough?" reached No. 6 in New Zealand and No. 1 in Australia in 1978; and " Still in Love with You" reached No. 35 and No. 27 in each country respectively that same year. Joe Walsh
Joseph Fidler Walsh (born Joseph Woodward Fidler; November 20, 1947) is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Best known as a member of the rock band Eagles (band), Eagles, his five-decade career includes solo work and stints in other bands: James Gang, Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band, and New Zealand's Herbs (band), Herbs. He was part of the supergroup (music), supergroup The Best (band), The Best and had success as a solo artist and prolific session musician, appearing on other artists' recordings. In 2011, ''Rolling Stone'' ranked him No. 54 on its list of "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time". The La De Da's
The La De Da's were a New Zealand rock band from 1963 to 1975. They were formed as a mod-ish group, the Mergers, in Te Atatū, by long-term members Kevin Borich on lead guitar and vocals, Phil Key on lead vocals and guitar and Trevor Wilson on bass guitar. In mid-1968 they relocated to Australia. Their popular singles in New Zealand were " How Is the Air Up There?", " On Top of the World" (both 1966), " Hey! Baby", "All Purpose Low" and "Rosalie" (all 1967), while their hits on Australia's ''Go-Set'' National Top 40 were "Gonna See My Baby Tonight" (1971), "Morning, Good Morning" (1972) and " Too Pooped to Pop" (1974). Kevin Borich
Kevin Nicholas Borich (born 27 October 1948, Huapai, North Island, New Zealand) is a New Zealand-born Australian guitarist and singer-songwriter. He was the mainstay of the La De Da's, the leader of Kevin Borich Express, and a founding member of the Party Boys, as well as a session musician for numerous acts. Borich wrote "Gonna See My Baby Tonight" for the La De Da's, which became a top 10 hit in 1971 on the Kent Music Report, Australian singles chart. NOTE: Used for Australian Singles and Albums charting from 1970 until Australian Recording Industry Association, ARIA created their own ARIA Charts, charts in mid-1988. Paul Adrian Christie (born 1953) is an Australian rock bassist and vocalist. He was a member of various groups including Kevin Borich Express (1978–79), Mondo Rock (1980–82) and the Party Boys (1982–90, 1992, 1998–99). As a member of Mondo Rock he performed on the tracks, " State of the Heart", "Cool World", " Summer of '81", "Chemistry", " No Time", " The Queen and Me" and " In Another Love". A supergroup is a musical group formed of members who are already successful as solo artists or as members of other successful groups. The term became popular in the late 1960s when members of already successful rock groups Collaborative_album, recorded albums together, after which they normally disbanded. Charity supergroups, in which prominent musicians perform or record together in support of a particular cause, have been common since the 1980s. Noiseworks are an Australian hard rock band formed in Sydney in 1986 with bass guitarist Steve Balbi, guitarist Stuart Fraser, drummer Kevin Nicol, keyboardist Justin Stanley and lead vocalist Jon Stevens. They had four Australian Top 10 albums, '' Noiseworks'' (1987), ''Touch'' (1988), '' Love Versus Money'' (1991) and ''Greatest Hits'' (1992). Alcatrazz
Alcatrazz is an American rock band formed in 1983 by Graham Bonnet, Jimmy Waldo, and Gary Shea. They are best known for their songs "Island in the Sun", "Hiroshima Mon Amour", and "God Blessed Video". They are also notable for featuring a previously unknown Yngwie Malmsteen as their lead guitarist for a year, who was then replaced by Steve Vai, with whom they recorded one album. Following an internal disagreement and split in 2020, there are currently two separate and distinct Alcatrazz line-ups, one featuring Bonnet, and another featuring Waldo and Shea. The band went through a number of line-up changes, with Bonnet being the only member to be in every incarnation of Alcatrazz. Rainbow (English Band)
Rainbow (also known as Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow or Blackmore's Rainbow) are a British rock band formed in Hertford in 1975 by guitarist Ritchie Blackmore. Established in the aftermath of Blackmore's first departure from Deep Purple, they originally featured four members of the American rock band Elf, including their singer Ronnie James Dio, but after their self-titled debut album, Blackmore fired these members, except Dio, recruiting drummer Cozy Powell, bassist Jimmy Bain, and keyboardist Tony Carey. This line-up recorded the band's second album '' Rising'' (1976), while ''Long Live Rock 'n' Roll'' (1978) saw Bob Daisley and David Stone replace Bain and Carey, respectively.
