The Other (band)
The Other (or TheOther) is a German horror punk band formed in Cologne in 2002. The band's music style blends elements of punk rock and Heavy metal music, heavy metal, with lyrics and stage costumes inspired by horror fiction and films. Although most of their material is in English, they also write and perform songs in German. History The Other began as a Misfits (band), Misfits cover band. They released their first album, ''They're Alive!'', in 2004 with a cover art inspired by classic horror film posters that has an actor "starring" section for the band members: "STARRING: Andy Only, Dr Caligari, Rod Usher, Sarge von Rock and.... Nim Vind
Nim Vind (born Chris Kirkham) is a Canadian solo musician/artist and songwriter, who has also played in Mr. Underhill and The Vincent Black Shadow. He describes his sound as "Music for Outsiders". His music has no specific genre but is sometimes referred to as horror punk. Nim Vind has been compared to the Misfits Social Distortion and Volbeat in the press. He often mentions David Bowie as a major influence. Weekend of Horrors was traditionally a tri-annual (with occasionally more) traveling convention which focuses on horror films. Formerly produced in partnership with Creation Entertainment, the Weekend of Horrors show is now owned exclusively by '' Fangoria Magazine'' and is held once annually in Los Angeles, California. The (WGT; German for "Wave Gothic Meeting") is an annual world festival for "dark" music and "dark culture" in Leipzig, Germany. 150+ bands and artists from various backgrounds (gothic rock, Electronic body music, EBM, Industrial music, industrial, Noise (music), noise, darkwave, neo-folk, Neoclassical music, neo-classical and Medieval music, medieval music being examples) play at several venues throughout the city over four days on Pentecost, Whitsuntide. M'era Luna Festival
The M'era Luna is a gothic festival that encompasses a number of different styles such as metal, future pop, aggrotech, synthpop, gothic rock, dark wave, and EBM. It is held annually on the second weekend of every August, in Hildesheim, Germany at Flugplatz Hildesheim-Drispenstedt, a former British Army airbase. M'era Luna includes camping facilities and has two stages: a large rock festival-style structure, erected for the show each year, and a former aircraft hangar. With its 20,000–25,000 regular attendants (21,000 in 2005, 23,000 in 2009, 24,000 in 2010) (many flying in via the Hanover airport, with others traveling via road and railway), the M'era Luna is one of the biggest dark music events in Germany. Joseph Michael Poole (born August 12, 1976), better known by his stage name Wednesday 13, is an American singer and musician. Apart from his solo career, he was the frontman of the horror punk/glam metal band Murderdolls and has also played in several other bands, including Maniac Spider Trash, Frankenstein Drag Queens from Planet 13, Bourbon Crow, and Gunfire 76. Career Psycho Opera and Maniac Spider Trash Joe Poole's musical career began in 1992 when he played guitar in his first band Mizery, which was later renamed Psycho Opera. Other members included Ray Franks (guitar), Michael Patrick (bass guitar), Jeff Washam (drums), and Todd Cage (vocals). Balzac (band)
Balzac (typeset as BALZAC) is a Japanese punk rock band formed in 1992 in Kyoto. The band was founded by singer and songwriter Hirosuke Nishiyama, who has remained the only constant member of the band since its creation. Since the beginning, Balzac was highly influenced by the sound and image of the American horror punk band Misfits and, especially during the very early years, Glenn Danzig's Samhain, adopting and combining the musical and visual style of both bands to create their own. The 69 Eyes is a Finnish Rock music, rock band.
