The Offspring Discography
The Offspring, a Southern California-based punk rock band, has released 10 studio albums, four extended plays (EP), two compilation albums, five demos, three video albums, and over 30 singles. The Offspring were formed in 1983 under the name Manic Subsidal by singer/guitarist Dexter Holland and bassist Greg K., who later recruited Noodles as their guitarist. After Manic Subsidal changed its name to The Offspring in 1986, drummer Ron Welty finally joined in 1987, then the band recorded a demo a year later. The Offspring signed a record deal with short-lived label Nemesis Records, and released its first album, ''The Offspring'', in 1989 on vinyl only. That album would not be released on CD until 1995. Two years later, after the release of the ''Baghdad'' EP and another demo, the band signed to Epitaph Records (a label owned by then-former and now-current Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz), who released the band's second album, ''Ignition'', in 1992. The Offspring
The Offspring is an American rock band from Garden Grove, California, formed in 1984. Originally formed under the name Manic Subsidal, the band's current lineup consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Bryan "Dexter" Holland, lead guitarist Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman and bassist Todd Morse. Over the course of their -year career, The Offspring have released 10 studio albums and have also experienced a number of lineup changes, most notably with their drummer. Their longest-serving drummer was Ron Welty, who replaced original drummer James Lilja in 1987 and stayed with The Offspring for 16 years. Welty was replaced by Atom Willard in 2003, who was replaced four years later by Pete Parada, who remained as the drummer for The Offspring until 2021. Gregory "Greg K." Epitaph Records is an American independent record label owned by Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, most acts signed to the label were punk and pop punk acts, while there are many post-hardcore and emo bands signed to the label as well. A large portion of the record label, known as Hellcat Records, is owned by Tim Armstrong, frontman of the punk rock band Rancid. Several sister labels also exist, such as ANTI-, Burning Heart Records, Hellcat Records, and Heart & Skull Records that have signed other types of bands. "Pretty Fly (for a White Guy)" is a song by American punk-rock band the Offspring. It is the fourth track from the band's fifth studio album, '' Americana'' (1998), and was released as its first single in November 1998. The song peaked at number 53 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100, number five on the ''Billboard'' Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, and number three on the ''Billboard'' Modern Rock Tracks chart. ''Ixnay on the Hombre'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band the Offspring, released on February 4, 1997, by Columbia Records. After the massive commercial success of their previous album, ''Smash'' (1994), the band entered the studio in the middle of 1996 to record a new album. The title combines Pig Latin (" Ixnay" is the version of the word "nix", familiar in 1940s Hollywood movies) and Spanish ("hombre", "man") to convey the message "fuck The Man", as in "fuck authority". "Gotta Get Away" is a song by American rock band The Offspring. It is the fourth track and third single from their breakthrough album, ''Smash'' (1994). The song was a modest hit in several countries, but peaked at No. 6 on Billboard's Modern Rock charts. "Gotta Get Away" was inspired by an early track, "Cogs", written while the band was still named Manic Subsidal. It is the seventh track on their third album, ''Smash'' (1994), and was released as its first single. Written by frontman Dexter Holland, the song was the second single to be released by the band, after " I'll Be Waiting" (1986). It is considered the Offspring's breakthrough song, as it received widespread radio play, with first attention brought by Jed the Fish of KROQ-FM, and reached number one on the ''Billboard'' Modern Rock Tracks chart, bringing both the band and the punk rock genre to widespread attention. After touring in support of their previous album '' Ignition'' (1992), the band recorded their next album over two months at Track Record in North Hollywood, California. ''Smash'' was the band's final studio album to be produced by Thom Wilson, who had worked with them since their 1989 eponymous debut.
