The Mercury Program
The Mercury Program is an American musical group composed of Dave Lebleu on drums, Sander Travisano on bass guitar, Tom Reno on guitar, and Whit Travisano on vibraphone and piano. History The first three members formed a trio in August 1997 and Whit Travisano joined in late 1999. Originally based in Gainesville, Florida, the band members live in different cities across the United States. Mercury Program's first two albums feature sparse, spoken-word vocals. However, beginning with the release of the 2001 EP ''All the Suits Began to Fall Off'', the band moved to an entirely instrumental format. The band toured extensively in support of their critically acclaimed 2002 album ''A Data Learn the Language''. Then, following the release of the split EP ''Confines of Heat'' in 2003, the Mercury Program went on extended hiatus, sporadically working on new material over the next several years. No Idea Records
No Idea Records is an American independent record label based in Gainesville, Florida which focuses on punk rock and its sub-styles and produces both vinyl records and compact discs. No Idea Records started not as a record label, but as a zine in 1985, published independently by Var Thelin and Ken Coffelt and some friends of theirs from high school. By the seventh issue in 1989, Var was running the zine with Sarah Dyer and other contributors and collaborators. Starting with the sixth edition, the No Idea zine included 7-inch records with each issue. The first featured a local Gainesville band called Doldrums, and the second was a split 7-inch, one side of which belonged to later Bay Area legends Crimpshrine, a major influence on the musical style which dominates No Idea to the present. Kindercore Records
Kindercore Vinyl was a vinyl record pressing plant based in Athens, Georgia. It began as an independent record label, founded in 1996 in music, 1996 by Ryan Lewis and Daniel Geller to help create a unified Music of Athens, Georgia, music scene of Athens. After the dissolution of the record label, Lewis and Geller partnered with Cash Carter and Bill Fortenberry to revive Kindercore as a vinyl pressing plant. During its time in operation, Kindercore Vinyl was the only vinyl pressing plant in the state of Georgia. As of 2023, the plant operates as Classic City Vinyl Works under different ownership. Record label Kindercore Records began in the mid-1990s by musicians Lewis and Geller in response to the variety of musicians in Athens, but no unifying music culture. Instrumental rock is rock music that emphasizes instrumental performance and features very little or no singing. Examples of instrumental music in rock can be found in practically every subgenre of the style.
