The Lovetones
The Lovetones are an Australian psychedelic rock band. History The Lovetones released their debut album, ''Be What You Want'', in 2002 through Bomp! Records subsidiary The Committee to Keep Music Evil. The album was reviewed in ''Creem'' and ''Rolling Stone'' magazines. After enjoying the critical success of ''Be What You Want'', touring Australia extensively, and even supporting Morrissey during his first-ever solo Australian tour, Tow joined The Brian Jonestown Massacre in 2003. He contributed two tracks to their album, ''... And This Is Our Music.'' Tow's opening track "Starcleaner" later also appeared on the BJM retrospective ''Tepid Peppermint Wonderland''. In the same year, UK-based Fire Records invited The Lovetones to contribute to the James Joyce Chamber Music project alongside Mercury Rev, Sonic Youth, and REM's Peter Buck. The Brian Jonestown Massacre is an American Rock music, rock band led and started by Anton Newcombe. It was formed in San Francisco in 1990. The group was the subject of the 2004 documentary film called ''Dig!'', and have gained media notoriety for their tumultuous working relationships as well as the erratic behavior of Newcombe. Belles Will Ring are an Australian alternative-rock band based in Sydney. It consists of founding members and songwriters Liam Judson and Aidan Roberts; alongside multi-instrumentalist Lauren Crew and drummer Joe Driver. Anton Alfred Newcombe (born August 29, 1967) is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and founder of the music group The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Newcombe was the subject of the 2004 documentary film '' Dig!'', along with Portland, Oregon alternative rock band The Dandy Warhols. Career In the 1980s Newcombe started recording with a band called Homeland. Besides The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Newcombe has worked with several bands, most notably The Dandy Warhols, The High Dials, The Manvils, Innaway, and The Quarter After. Sonic Youth
Sonic Youth were an American rock band formed in New York City in 1981.
