Amber Mary Bain (born 13 July 1995), known professionally as the Japanese House, is an English indie pop musician from Buckinghamshire. Bain contributes vocals and plays guitar, synthesizer and keyboard for her music. Bain decided to pursue a career in music as a teenager. She began writing music under the moniker The Japanese House in 2012, after being introduced to Matty Healy of the 1975, who offered to help produce her music under the label Dirty Hit. She first rose to prominence after the release of her first single, "Still", which was a critical success and premiered on BBC Radio 1. Bain's androgynous vocals, heavy use of production, and elusive media presence fueled fan speculation about her gender and identity after her first few singles were released. The Wiltern
The Pellissier Building and adjoining Wiltern Theatre is a 12-story, Art Deco landmark at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Western Avenue (Los Angeles), Western Avenue in Los Angeles, California. Dream Pop
Dream pop (also typeset as dreampop) is a subgenre of alternative rock and neo-psychedelia that emphasizes atmosphere and sonic texture as much as pop melody. Common characteristics include breathy vocals, dense productions, and effects such as reverb, echo, tremolo, and chorus. It often overlaps with the related genre of shoegaze, and the two genre terms have at times been used interchangeably. The genre came into prominence in the 1980s through groups associated with the UK label 4AD, most prominently Cocteau Twins, This Mortal Coil, and A.R. Kane. ''In the End It Always Does'' is the second studio album by English indie pop musician Amber Bain, under the name the Japanese House. It was released on 30 June 2023 through Dirty Hit. The 12 tracks run 45 minutes. The album was received positively. Background The record was written in late 2021 and sees the musician "returning to her muse". Inspiration came from her "current relationship to her identity" and "growing up queer", mainly tackled by the lead single "Boyhood". The album came together as a result of all the relationships she has begun and lost over the years. Furthermore, it explores her experience of moving to Margate for a relationship that eventually came to an end. Diving more into the pop genre, the artist explores a multitude of topics, such as "beginnings and endings", "obsession and mundanity" and "falling in love and falling apart". George Daniel
George Bedford Daniel is a British drummer, record producer, DJ and electronic musician. He came to prominence as a member of the rock band the 1975, as part of which he released five albums that topped the UK Albums Chart. His songwriting and producing partnership with the band's vocalist Matty Healy made him the co-recipient of multiple awards and nominations including two Ivor Novello Awards and four Brit Awards.
