The Hong Kong Children's Choir
The Hong Kong Children's Choir is a children's choir in Hong Kong, founded in 1969 as a government-registered non-profit organization. At present the Hong Kong Children'S Choir is the world's largest children's choir. The choir, currently led by music director and Principal Conductor Kathy Fok, has over 5000 members. Members train with 100 professional instructors. The choir frequently performs overseas, and won the Audience Award in Hungary's at 2006's Vivace International Choir Festival, and the "Gold Award" in 2008's Shanghai International Children's Choir Showcase. 2002–2004 SARS Outbreak
The 2002–2004 outbreak of SARS, caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV or SARS-CoV-1), infected over 8,000 people from 29 countries and territories, and resulted in at least 774 deaths worldwide. The outbreak was first identified in Foshan, Guangdong, China, in November 2002.
