The Flatliners are a Canadian punk rock band from Richmond Hill, Ontario. History The band self-released its debut album, '' Destroy to Create'' in 2005; after signing to Stomp Records, it was reissued on July 19, 2005. It saw the band mix punk rock with ska, and was promoted with a Canadian tour. In March and April 2006, the band went on the Frostbite Tour alongside Death by Stereo, Bigwig, and Big D and the Kids Table. They appeared at the Ska Weekend festival at the end of April 2006. In October 2006, they went on a Canadian tour with Much the Same, and then embarked on a short US tour alongside Time Again, Against All Authority, and the Know How. Richmond Hill ( 2021 population: 202,022) is a city in south-central York Region, Ontario, Canada. Part of the Greater Toronto Area, it is the York Region's third most populous municipality and the 27th most populous municipality in Canada. Bigwig (band)
Bigwig is an American punk rock band from New Jersey, formed in 1995. They were originally composed of Josh Farrell (guitar), John Castaldo (bass), Tom Petta (guitar/vocals), and Dan Rominski (drums). The band has seen numerous lineup changes over the years, with Tom Petta being the only constant member. These changes brought a variety of influences and styles, contributing to the band’s evolving sound. Bigwig's music often tackles political and social issues, including themes of anti-establishment and personal struggle. The band Bigwig derived their name from a character in the 1978 animated film "Watership Down," which is based on Richard Adams' novel. In the story, Bigwig is a strong and fearless rabbit leader. The Loved Ones (Australian Band)
The Loved Ones were an Australian rock band formed in 1965 in Melbourne following the British Invasion. The line-up of Gavin Anderson on drums, Ian Clyne on organ and piano, Gerry Humphrys on vocals and harmonica, Rob Lovett on guitar and Kim Lynch on bass guitar recorded their early hits. Their signature song, "The Loved One (song), The Loved One", reached number two on Australian singles charts and was later covered by INXS. In 2001 it was selected as number six on the Australasian Performing Right Association's (APRA) list of APRA Top 30 Australian songs, Top 30 Australian songs of all time. NOFX
NOFX () was an American punk rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1983. Bassist/lead vocalist Fat Mike, rhythm guitarist Eric Melvin and drummer Erik Sandin were original founding and longest-serving members of the band, who have appeared on every release by the band, although Sandin departed briefly in 1985, only to rejoin the following year. El Hefe joined the band in 1991 to play lead guitar and trumpet, rounding out the best-known iteration of the lineup. NOFX's mainstream success coincided with increased interest in punk rock during the 1990s; unlike many of their contemporaries, however, they had never been signed to a major label. A Wilhelm Scream
A Wilhelm Scream (abbreviated as AWS) is a melodic hardcore band from New Bedford, Massachusetts, formed in 1999. Sonically, their music has been compared to that of Strung Out, Hot Water Music, Propagandhi, and Strike Anywhere. Their name is a reference to the Wilhelm scream, a famous stock sound effect mainly used in films. The band previously went by the names Koen and Smackin' Isaiah, though the latter was the only name to be used in any major releases. The Toasters
The Toasters are one of the original American Third wave ska, third wave of ska bands. Founded in New York City in 1981, the band has released nine studio albums, primarily through Moon Ska Records. History Englishman Robert Hingley relocated to New York City in 1980, where he managed that city's Forbidden Planet (bookstore), Forbidden Planet comic book store location. Hingley formed the Toasters in 1981 after seeing The Beat (British band), the Beat perform at the Roseland Ballroom. The group's first live show was supporting Bad Brains at A7 in 1981. One of the original second-wave ska bands, the early Toasters lineup included other employees of the Forbidden Planet store. The group self-released their first single, "Beat Up", in 1983. Warped Tour
The Warped Tour is a Concert tour, touring Rock music, rock music festival that toured the United States and Canada each summer from 1995 until 2019, and returned in 2025 for its 30th anniversary. By 2015, Warped was the largest traveling music festival in the United States and the longest-running touring music festival in North America. Internationally, the festival stopped in Australia from 1998–2002 and again in 2013, as well as the United Kingdom in 2012 and 2015. Following the first Warped Tour, the skateboard shoe manufacturer Vans became the festival's title sponsor, when it then became known as the Vans Warped Tour. No Use For A Name
No Use for a Name (sometimes abbreviated NUFAN or No Use) was an American punk rock band from Sunnyvale, California, formed in 1986 by Chris Dodge (guitar), Steve Papoutsis (bass) and Rory Koff (drums). The band's sound evolved considerably through its career, starting off as a Bay Area-influenced punk band, moving on to a much heavier metallic-tinted sound to finally taking on a much lighter brand of melodic punk as the years passed. Following Tony Sly's death on July 31, 2012, the remaining members chose to disband the group out of respect for him. History No Use For a Name was formed in 1986 by longtime friends Dodge, Papoutsis and Koff. Wakestock (Canada)
The Wakestock Action Sports and Music Festival is a wakeboarding contest and Canada's largest action sports and music festival. It is held in Ontario, Canada on the Toronto Islands, Toronto, Toronto, Ontario. The name Wakestock refers to the famous outdoor music festival Woodstock. History Wakestock was born out of Bala, Ontario. In 2005, the festival was moved to Toronto Islands from August 11–14. Each year the wakeboard competition is accompanied by a music festival. There are several stages with different bands playing throughout day. There are also other attractions—in 2005 there was a skatepark set up for anyone with a skateboard. There was a Pro Freestyle motocross demonstration as well as a rail competition set up for wakeboarders. The Know How
The Know How is a third wave ska band from Gainesville, Florida, formed in 1998. Their musical style blends ska and pop punk and prominently features a Moog synthesizer, alongside more typical ska instrumentation (including an organ and usually one or more trombones). Despite releases on Jump Up! Records and Stomp Records, numerous nationwide tours (including appearances on the 2005 Warped Tour as well as the second and third Ska Is Dead tours), the band took a long hiatus after their final shows in Gainesville on February 16 and 17, 2007. The band cited financial strains, tour fatigue and fluctuations in the supporting lineup as contributing factors.
