The Embassy (band)
The Embassy is a Swedish pop duo consisting of guitarist/vocalist Fredrik Lindson and keyboardist/programmer Torbjörn Håkansson. Their music can be described as a blend of disco, twee pop and pub rock. Their music was first released by the independent label Service but is currently released via the bands own imprint, International. The group's post-modernist attitude, anti-rock aesthetics and disrespectful live performances have made them both loved and loathed. History 1999: Formation The Embassy was formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1999. 2002: ''Futile Crimes'' The group's debut album '' Futile Crimes'' was released in 2002, preceded by the three singles "Sneaky Feelings EP", "It Never Entered My Mind" and "The Pointer/Make me sad". The album consists of 10 songs recorded by Björn Olsson in Sehr Schöön studios. Mogul Embassy
Mogul Embassy, formerly simply the Embassy, was a villainous professional wrestling stable. Formed by Prince Nana in Ring of Honor (ROH) in 2004, in 2022 the Embassy also began appearing with All Elite Wrestling (AEW). In 2023, the Embassy merged with Swerve Strickland's Mogul Affiliates stable to become the Mogul Embassy. The Mogul Embassy disbanded in May 2024 when its members turned on Strickland, ending the stable's run after 20 years. History Ring of Honor (2004–2024) The Embassy was formed in Ring of Honor in early 2004 by Prince Nana, who used the gimmick of an African prince. In storylines, Nana used his wealth gained from the taxes of people of Ghana to hire wrestlers to wrestle the Embassy's opponents and rivals, although he did once use winnings from betting on Ghana in a match (against the United States) in the 2006 FIFA World Cup to hire one. World Professional Darts Championship
The World Professional Darts Championship is one of the most important tournaments in the darts calendar. Originally held as an annual event between 1978 and 1993, players then broke off into two separate organisations after a controversial split in darts, split in the game. Each organisation, the British Darts Organisation (BDO) and the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) then arranged their own World Championships, the former in January the latter in December. As a result, there was no longer a unified world champion in the sport for nearly three decades. The BDO version dated back to 1978, when it was held at the Rock City (club), Heart of the Midlands nightclub, Nottingham. The Embassy Lark
''The Embassy Lark'' is a radio comedy series broadcast from 1966 to 1968 as a spin-off from '' The Navy Lark''. It was written by Lawrie Wyman and starred Frank Thornton and Derek Francis. It was produced by Alastair Scott Johnston. Three series, of 13, 14 and 15 episodes, were made. The show was set in the British Embassy in the fictional country of ''Tratvia'' and was concerned with the various (mis)adventures of the British Ambassador Sir Jeremy Crighton-Buller (Francis) and his First Secretary Henry Pettigrew (Thornton) as they tried to keep smooth relations between Tratvia, Whitehall and the other Embassies (China, the USSR and The U.S.).
