The Division Bell
''The Division Bell'' is the fourteenth studio album by the English rock band Pink Floyd, released on 28 March 1994 by EMI Records in the United Kingdom and on 5 April by Columbia Records in the United States. The second Pink Floyd album recorded without the founding member Roger Waters, ''The Division Bell'' was written mostly by the guitarist and singer, David Gilmour, and the keyboardist, Richard Wright. It features Wright's first lead vocal on a Pink Floyd album since '' The Dark Side of the Moon'' (1973). Gilmour's fiancée, the novelist Polly Samson, co-wrote many of the lyrics, which deal with themes of communication. It was the last Pink Floyd studio album to be composed of entirely new material, and the last recorded with Wright, who died in 2008. ''The Endless River'' is the fifteenth and final studio album by the English rock band Pink Floyd, released in November 2014 by Parlophone Records in Europe and Columbia Records in the rest of the world. It was the third Pink Floyd album recorded under the leadership of the guitarist, David Gilmour, after the departure of former bassist, Roger Waters, and the first following the death of keyboardist, Richard Wright, in 2008, who appears posthumously. ''Pulse'' (stylised as P•U•L•S•E) is a concert video by Pink Floyd of their 20 October 1994 concert at Earls Court, London during The Division Bell Tour. It was originally released on VHS and Laserdisc in June 1995, with a DVD release coming in July 2006, with the latter release containing numerous bonus features. In 2019, a newly restored and re-edited version was released on Blu-ray and DVD as part of '' The Later Years'' box-set; this version was given a standalone release on 18 February 2022. The Blu-ray version is the first release of ''Pulse'' in HD, although it is upconverted from the original SD video recording and remains in its 4:3 aspect ratio. The Division Bell Tour was the final concert tour by the English rock band Pink Floyd, held in 1994 to support their album '' The Division Bell''. Pink Floyd disbanded after the tour. Recordings were released on the 1995 live album ''Pulse''. Richard Parry (born 22 December 1942) is an English saxophonist. He has appeared as a session musician on various albums, most notably in solo parts on the Pink Floyd songs "Money", " Us and Them", " Shine On You Crazy Diamond" and " Wearing the Inside Out". He also played on the Bloodstone album ''Riddle of the Sphinx''. Career Born in Kentford, Suffolk, Parry started his career as a saxophonist in The Soul Committee, a mid-1960s band in Cambridge. Andrew Brook Jackson is a British recording engineer, best known for his work with the British progressive rock band Pink Floyd. He was (until 2022) also the owner and operator of Tube Mastering, a private studio specializing in recorded music mastering. Career Originally trained in the profession at Utopia Studios, Jackson began work as an engineer for Pink Floyd in 1980, assisting in the recording of the performances of ''The Wall'' at Earls Court. Polly Samson
Polly Samson (born 29 April 1962) is an English novelist, lyricist and journalist. She is married to the musician David Gilmour and has written lyrics for many of his songs, including albums with his band Pink Floyd. Life and career Samson's father was Lance Samson, a newspaper editor and diplomatic correspondent for the '' Morning Star.'' ''The Dark Side of the Moon'' is the eighth studio album by the English rock band Pink Floyd, released on 1 March 1973, by Capitol Records in the US and on 16 March 1973, by Harvest Records in the UK.
