The Clint Boon Experience (stylised as The Clint Boon Experience!, also known as CBX) are an English alternative rock band formed by ex-Inspiral Carpets keyboard player Clint Boon after Inspiral Carpets disbanded in the mid-1990s. Background Boon formed The Clint Boon Experience in 1998. They supported Travis, performing in Belfast in December 1999, then returning as headliners in February 2000. The band were one of the earliest to exploit the internet, having a website and an email list. They released two albums: '' The Compact Guide to Pop Music and Space Travel'' and '' Life in Transition'', under the independent record label, Artful Records. Alternative rock (also known as alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s. Inspiral Carpets
Inspiral Carpets are an English rock band, part of the late-1980s/early-1990s Madchester movement. Formed in Oldham in 1983, the band's most successful lineup featured frontman Tom Hingley, drummer Craig Gill, guitarist Graham Lambert, bassist Martyn Walsh, and keyboardist Clint Boon. Going by "The Furs", Lambert formed line-ups loosely with other various past band members from 1980 to 1983 until he and singer Stephen Holt met at The Moor End indie disco in Oldham in 1983. Holt sang on the first two independent singles. Clint Boon
Clinton David Boon (born 28 June 1959) is an English musician, DJ and radio presenter. Boon originally rose to fame as the keyboard player (and sometimes vocalist) of Inspiral Carpets. Music career Born in Oldham, Lancashire, Boon joined the Inspiral Carpets in 1986 after previously playing in a band called The Mill. After the Inspiral Carpets split in 1995, Boon went on to form The Clint Boon Experience releasing two albums under this name – '' The Compact Guide to Pop Music and Space Travel'' (1999), and '' Life in Transition'' (2000). In this year the band released the single "Do What You Do (Earworm Song)", which featured Fran Healy, the lead singer of the band Travis. Boon has his own record label, 'Booney Tunes', signing artists such as Elaine Palmer, and has also been a regular DJ at a number of nightclubs around England, and in Wrexham, North Wales. Travis are a Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 1990, and composed of Fran Healy (musician), Fran Healy (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Dougie Payne (bass guitar, backing vocals), Andy Dunlop (lead guitar, banjo, backing vocals), and Neil Primrose (musician), Neil Primrose (drums, percussion). Alfred Giovanni Roncalli Boe (born 29 September 1973) is an English actor and singer who performs primarily in musical theatre. Francis Healy (born 23 July 1973) is a Scottish musician. He is the lead singer and lyricist of the band Travis (band), Travis, having written nearly all of the songs on their first six studio albums along with their ninth and tenth, with the seventh and eighth containing material written by other members of the band.
