The Click Tour
The Click Tour was the third concert tour by American indie pop band AJR, supporting their second studio album, ''The Click'' (2017). It ran from February 8, 2018, to December 21, 2018, and covered 46 shows across North America. The set list consisted primarily of songs from ''The Click'', additionally including " I'm Ready" from ''Living Room'' (2015), "Don't Throw Out My Legos" from ''Neotheater'' (2019), and one cover per show. Background and development Following their second studio album ''The Click'' (2017), AJR announced the Click Tour on November 14 in the same year. Tickets became available for sale on November 17, covering 32 dates between February and May 2018 in the US and Canada. For the tour, AJR took inspiration from the non-standard artforms used by Blue Man Group, ''Stomp'', and other Broadway productions, consistently interacting with their audience and intending to make the concerts unpredictable. ''The Click'' is the second studio album by American indie pop band AJR. It was released on June 9, 2017, via the band's label AJR Productions and S-Curve Records, later released internationally through Ultra Records and Black Butter Records. The album follows the trio's previous work, maintaining a pop sound with elements of hip-hop, electronic dance music, and jazz. It includes a sole guest appearance from Rivers Cuomo of the band Weezer while taking influence from Fun, Twenty One Pilots, Kendrick Lamar, and Kanye West. The five-track extended play '' What Everyone's Thinking'' supported it in September 2016, which had the singles " I'm Not Famous" and "Weak". Sober Up
"Sober Up" is a song by American indie pop band AJR, from their second studio album, ''The Click''. Released as the album's fifth single, it features Rivers Cuomo, lead singer and frontman of American rock band Weezer, although certain radio stations instead play a version with band member Ryan singing Cuomo's verse. "Sober Up" became the first number-one song for AJR on the ''Billboard'' Alternative Songs, when it peaked at number one on the chart in March 2018. Similarly, it also makes Cuomo his first number-one song as a solo artist outside of Weezer. Background The inspiration for "Sober Up" came to Jack and Ryan Met during their time at Columbia University, the brothers missing their childhood. Taking inspiration from their feelings of loneliness, they wrote about Jack calling his second grade crush from elementary school. iHeartRadio describes "Sober Up" as a positive song despite its difficult lyrics. Pittsburgh Synagogue Shooting
On October 27, 2018, a right-wing extremist attacked Tree of Life – Or L'Simcha Congregation synagogue in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The congregation, along with New Light Congregation and Congregation Dor Hadash, which also worshipped in the building, was attacked during Shabbat morning services. The perpetrator killed eleven people and wounded six, in the deadliest attack on a local Jewish community in American history.
