The Bronx Casket Co. is an American gothic metal band from New York City. They were formed in 1999 by Overkill bassist D.D. Verni. The band's music features a blend of gothic metal and traditional heavy metal. History Their first release was titled ''The Bronx Casket Company'', and was met with good reviews. 2001 saw the release of their second full-length release, ''Sweet Home Transylvania'', which was met with the same enthusiasm. Although the band had never played a live show, fan interest continued to grow with songs like "Jesus Doesn't Live Here Anymore", "The Other Me" and "Black Valentine". Allegedly, the only time the whole band were in the same room together was to shoot the promo photos for the album. Each member recorded his own part in a different studio as to accommodate their commitments to their other bands. Gothic metal (or goth metal) is a fusion genre combining the aggression of heavy metal music, heavy metal with the dark atmospheres of gothic rock. The music of gothic metal is diverse with bands known to adopt the gothic approach to different styles of heavy metal music. The genre originated during the early 1990s in the United Kingdom originally as an outgrowth of death-doom, a fusion of death metal and doom metal. Regain Records
Regain Records is a Swedish-based independent record label. The label predominantly released death metal and black metal albums. Regain Records was founded from what remained of the former label, Wrong Again Records, by Per Gyllenbäck in 1997. Wrong Again Records had such bands as In Flames, Cryptopsy, Arch Enemy, and Naglfar among its ranks. Regain Records' first two releases were Deranged's '' High on Blood'' and Embraced's ''Amorous Anathema'', in late 1997. In the first two years of operation, business for the label was slow, due to lack of proper distribution. It was not until Regain Records re-released the first two in Flames albums, ''Lunar Strain'' and ''Subterranean'', which were previously released under the name Wrong Again Records, that the label began to prosper. Myke Hideous (born October 15, 1966) is an American gothic rock singer and songwriter from New Jersey. He is the founder and frontman of the gothic rock band The Empire Hideous, which was active throughout the 1990s and into the early 2000s. He also performed with The Bronx Casket Co., Spy Society 99, and the Misfits as a fill-in vocalist on their South American and European tours that took place from May to July in 1998. Lee Lanier is an American 3D computer animator and the author of nine books for the 3D modeling software package Maya and the digital compositing software packages After Effects, Fusion, and Nuke.
