The Blow Waves
The Blow Waves are a five-piece disco rock band from Melbourne, Australia fronted by Matt Thomas Matt Doll (ex-frontman of The Mavis's) and The B-Dolls. Matt Doll had been recording bedroom demos for a potential solo album. He'd recently befriended guitarist Jamie Slocombe Love Outside Andromeda and after hearing the songs Jamie offered to play guitar for live shows. After being offered a gig at Rob Roy (Workers Club), another Friend suggested John Pants should play bass. An instant friendship was born and it felt like more of a band rather than a solo project, hence The Blow Waves were born. Matt had been playing with drummer Julia Watt with The B-Dolls and she drummed with the band for a year until other commitments came up. Tania Cavanagh drummed on and off for the band until Jeremi Wallace joined full-time in 2009. Early gigs included Feast Festival in 2006, which they returned to in 2008 and 2009. The Earthmen
The Earthmen were an Australian indie pop-rock band formed in Melbourne, Victoria. They released two albums, ''Teen Sensations'' and ''Love Walked In'' during their career (1991–1999). ''Love Walked In'' was nominated for ARIA Award for Breakthrough Artist – Album' at the ARIA Music Awards of 1997. 2009 World Outgames
The 2009 World Outgames, the 2nd World Outgames, a sporting and cultural event hosted by the gay community, was hosted by Copenhagen, Denmark from July 25 to August 2, 2009. It was one of the largest international sports and cultural events ever held in Denmark, with 8,000 people from around the world expected to participate. Feast Festival
Feast Festival is a LGBTI Festival held annually in the South Australian capital of Adelaide. The event is one of Australia's four major queer festivals, alongside Perth's Pride Festival, Melbourne's Midsumma and the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. Feast was founded in a by group of arts and community cultural workers. Margie Fischer, Damien Carey, Helen Bock and Luke Cutler worked together to create a community arts festival for the lesbian and gay community in Adelaide. In 1999, cabaret theatre performer Paul Capsis performed at the festival's opening concert.
