The Balconies
The Balconies were a Canadian alternative music trio formed in Ottawa, Ontario. The band originally consisted of siblings Jacquie and Steve Neville, and Liam Jaeger. The group has performed with bands such as Cold War Kids, Mother Mother, Devo, Peter Bjorn and John, USS, Sloan, Stars, Wide Mouth Mason, Big Sugar, Tokyo Police Club, Bad Religion, and Sam Roberts Band. History Jacquie and Stephen Neville had been playing music together since their early teens. Jacquie first met Liam Jaeger at the University of Ottawa in 2005 while they were both studying classical music. The group formed in late 2007. They released their self-titled debut album in 2009. Beau's All Natural Brewing Company
Beau's All Natural Brewing Company, also known as Beau's Brewing Company or simply Beau's, is a brewery in Vankleek Hill, Ontario, 50 minutes east of Ottawa. It was launched on July 1, 2006, and is known for its "regionally famous" Lug Tread lagered ale, as well as a number of seasonal beers. Beau's beers are available throughout Ontario on tap and at LCBO liquor stores. In February 2015, the brewery has also begun selling its products in Quebec, and across Canada in 2017. Big Sugar (band)
Big Sugar is a band formed in Toronto in 1988 by Gordie Johnson, the band's lead singer, lead guitarist and main songwriter. Between 1996 and 2016, Big Sugar was among the top 25 best-selling Canadian bands in Canada. They are still active today, releasing new music, vinyl re-releases and touring. History Big Sugar originally consisted of Johnson, bassist Terry Wilkins, and drummer Al Cross. The three musicians had already played together for several years as a supporting band for Molly Johnson's jazz performances, and as an informal jam band with members of the Bourbon Tabernacle Choir. The Ottawa Bluesfest (currently known as RBC Bluesfest under a naming rights sponsorship) is an annual outdoor music festival that takes place each July in downtown Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. While the festival's lineup historically focused on blues music at its inception, it has increasingly showcased mainstream pop, hip hop, reggae, rock and EDM in recent years. Bluesfest has become the third largest music festival in Canada and the fourth largest music festival in North America. There was a hiatus in 2020–21. South by Southwest (SXSW) is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and Convention (meeting), conferences organized jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas. Zeus is a Toronto-based Canadian indie rock band signed to the Arts & Crafts record label.
