Tennis At The 1968 Summer Olympics
Tennis returned to the Summer Olympic program as an exhibition and a demonstration event in 1968 Summer Olympics, 1968. It would become an official sport 20 years later at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Men's and women's singles and doubles and mixed doubles were held in both, a Demonstration tournament and an Exhibition tournament. The Demonstration tournament was held in Guadalajara and the Exhibition tournament in Mexico City. Tennis

Juan Gisbert Sr. (born 5 April 1942) is a retired Spanish professional tennis player from the 1960s and 1970s. He was ranked world No. 14 in 1967. Nicola Pietrangeli
Nicola "Nicky" Pietrangeli (; born 11 September 1933) is an Italian former tennis player. He won two singles titles at the French Championships and is considered by many to be one of Italy's greatest tennis champions. Biography Nicola Chirinsky Pietrangeli was born 11 September 1933, in Tunis, then a French colony, to a father also born in Tunis but of Italian parents from Abruzzo and Campania, and to a Russian mother whose father was Danish. Pietrangeli made his international debut at the 1952 Italian Open, losing in fours sets to Jacques Peten. He appeared in four men's singles finals at Roland Garros – winning the title in 1959 and 1960, and finishing runner-up in 1961 and 1964. Vladimir Korotkov (tennis)
Vladimir Viktorovich Korotkov (23 April 1948 – 14 June 2025) was a Soviet tennis player who won three Junior Grand Slam tournaments, Wimbledon Boys Singles in 1965, 1966 and the French Juniors in 1966. He also won (with Zaiga Jansone) the mixed doubles at the 1968 Summer Olympics where tennis was a "demonstration sport". He won the men's doubles event at the 1973 Summer Universiade and the 1977 USSR singles championship. From 1981 until his retirement in 1996, Korotkov was coaching at several sports clubs. Ingo Dietmar Buding (9 January 1942 – 10 May 2003) was a West German tennis player. His sisters Edda and Ilse were also tennis players. Buding reached the quarterfinals of Roland Garros in 1965 and won the boys' singles title in 1959 and 1960. Valerie Jean Bradshaw (née Ziegenfuss; June 29, 1949) is an American former female professional tennis player. She started as an amateur player at the beginning of the 1970s, then turned professional. She is most famous for being one of the Original 9 with eight of her fellow players, who rebelled against the United States Tennis Association in 1970. Their actions brought about the creation of the Virginia Slims Circuit, which was the basis for the WTA Tour. During her career, she reached the fourth round at the French Open (in 1972) and the US Open on two occasions (1969 and 1975). She reached one singles final at the Virginia Slims of Oklahoma in 1972. Rosa María Reyes Darmon (''née'' Reyes; 23 March 1939 – 4 January 2024) was a Mexican tennis player who was active in the 1950s and 1960s. Edda Buding (13 November 1936 – 15 July 2014) was a German tennis player of Romanian birth. She received the doubles gold medal at the 1968 Summer Olympics doubles demonstration event partnered with Helga Niessen Masthoff.
