Suicide Among Doctors
Suicide among doctors refers to physicians or medical trainees dying by suicide. Studies report that physicians are more likely to die by suicide than the general population and even people with similar academic training who are not Physician, physicians. The suicide mortality rate is about the same among male and female doctors, and significantly higher than the general population. Female physicians are at higher risk of attempting suicide than men, showing rates over 250% higher among women and about 70% higher among men versus the general population. Lorna Breen
Lorna Margaret Breen (October 9, 1970 – April 26, 2020) was an American physician who was the emergency room director at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. She died by suicide in 2020, while taking a break with family in Charlottesville, Virginia during the coronavirus pandemic. Early life Breen was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, and raised in Danville, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Wyoming Seminary in 1988. She received a master's degree at Cornell University and attended Medical College of Virginia before doing a residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Career Breen worked in The Allen Hospital at the NewYork-Presbyterian, where during spring of 2020 she treated patients with COVID-19. Coronaviruses are a group of related RNA viruses that cause diseases in mammals and birds. In humans and birds, they cause respiratory tract infections that can range from mild to lethal. Lisa-Maria Kellermayr was an Austrian doctor. She became known to a broad public when she was massively threatened by opponents of vaccination and critics of the coronavirus protection measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. She then closed her doctor's office and committed suicide a month later. The authorities, especially the Austrian police, have repeatedly been accused of serious failure. Life Kellermayr completed training as a paramedic. She then studied medicine in Graz and Vienna. She then worked in a rehabilitation clinic in Bad Ischl. From March 2020 on, she worked in the general practitioner emergency service and worked for months in the fight against the corona pandemic.
