Soulwax
Soulwax are a Belgian electronic band and DJ/production collective from Ghent, who formed in 1995. Centred around brothers David and Stephen Dewaele, other current members include Igor and Laima Cavalera, and Stefaan Van Leuven. The group first rose to prominence following the release of their album '' Much Against Everyone's Advice'', and have released five studio albums to date. Outside of Soulwax, the Dewaeles also perform DJ sets under the moniker 2manydjs (first known as The Fucking Dewaele Brothers/The Flying Dewaele Brothers). The group are also known for their project Radio Soulwax. Their 2002 compilation, '' As Heard on Radio Soulwax Pt. 2'', was named the best popular music album of 2002 by ''The New York Times''. ''Radio Soulwax'' is the former project of David and Stephen Dewaele of 2manydjs. It has taken several forms, most recently appearing as aappanhosting 24 individual hour-long mixes, with custom visuals similar to those used in the 2manydjs live sets. Background The earliest incarnation of Radio Soulwax debuted on [web.archive.org sitewww.soulwax.comin around 2001. Initially it featured 10 mp3 playlists, sequenced like DJ sets, although more were added later. More recently the Radio Soulwax project was revived, because they said that they came to a level that they headline festivals, they can always play for a big audience, etc. But they found at a certain moment that it began to be a bit limiting. Goose (Belgian Band)
GOOSE is a Belgian electronic rock band consisting of members Mickael Karkousse, Dave Martijn, Tom Coghe, and Bert Libeert. History GOOSE was formed in the summer of 2000 in Kortrijk, Belgium. They started writing and recording their own songs, heavily incorporating synthesizers into them. They won Humo's Rock Rally in 2002 and later that year recorded their debut single "Audience" with Teo Miller. Coca-Cola used their debut single for TV adverts across Europe. They were signed to Skint Records and their debut album ''Bring It On'' was released on September 11, 2006. They toured intensively through Europe, and played shows in Australia and Japan. Igor Cavalera
Igor Graziano Cavalera (born 4 September 1970) is a Brazilian musician, best known as the former drummer for the heavy metal band Sepultura, which he co-founded with his brother Max in 1984. Max left the band in 1997, and Igor himself would depart nine years later, making him the last original member of Sepultura to leave the band. The brothers have since reunited in the band Cavalera Conspiracy. He has played in the bands Nailbomb and Strife. As his hip-hop influences grew stronger, he began to DJ. Cavalera is one half of DJ duo Mixhell, a project he founded with his wife Laima Leyton. In 2016, Soulwax introduced a new live show entitled "Soulwax Transient Program For Drums And Machinery", for which the new line up included Cavalera as one of three drummers (along with Victoria Smith and Blake Davies) as well as Igor's wife Laima Leyton (of Mixhell) on synths and backing vocals. Tiga James Sontag (born 18 September 1974), known simply as Tiga (), is a Canadian musician, DJ, music programmer, and record producer. He has released three albums: ''Sexor'' (2006), ''Ciao! Bent Van Looy
Bent Van Looy (born 3 May 1976) is a Belgian-Flemish musician, singer and songwriter. He has been the frontman and singer for Das Pop, the Belgian band he founded in Ghent in 1994 together with schoolfriends Reinhard Vanbergen, Niek Meul and Lieven Moors. He was also the drummer of Soulwax, a project of the Dewaele brothers. Van Looy recorded solo albums, presented on TV and radio, and is a painter. In Das Pop Bent Van Looy's band Das Pop was initially called Things to Come, but the band later changed its name to Das Pop. The band has released four albums: ''I ♥'' (2000), ''The Human Thing'' (2003), Das Pop (2009) and ''The Game'' (2011). Das Pop
Das Pop is a Belgian band founded in Ghent by school friends Reinhard Vanbergen, Niek Meul, Lieven Moors and Bent Van Looy. They perform in English, but have also released a German-language version of their hit song ''You'' as ''Du''. Biography Das Pop was initially called Things to Come, but the band changed its name to Das Pop when Tom Kestens joined the band. In 1998, they won Belgium's influential HUMO's Rock Rally contest. Tom Kestens and Lieven Moors later left the band, and in 2007 New Zealander Matt Eccles (formerly drums in Betchadupa) joined the band as the new drummer. PIAS Recordings (formerly Play It Again Sam) is a Belgian record label founded in 1982 by Kenny Gates and Michel Lambot, In September 2024, the company was acquired by Universal Music Group.
