Vietnam War
The Vietnam War (1 November 1955 – 30 April 1975) was an armed conflict in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia fought between North Vietnam (Democratic Republic of Vietnam) and South Vietnam (Republic of Vietnam) and their allies. North Vietnam was supported by the Soviet Union and China, while South Vietnam was supported by the United States and other anti-communist nations. The conflict was the second of the Indochina wars and a proxy war of the Cold War between the Soviet Union and US. The Vietnam War was one of the postcolonial wars of national liberation, a theater in the Cold War, and a civil war, with civil warfare a defining feature from the outset. Grinder (band)
Grinder was a late 1980s/early 1990s speed metal/thrash metal band from Germany. They released three full-length albums and one EP before disbanding. Grinder was the first international heavy metal act to play in Turkey, on May 12, 1990, at the Open Air Theater in Istanbul. Nargaroth
Nargaroth is a German black metal band led by René "Ash" Wagner, who was previously known as 'Kanwulf.' The band is associated with raw and misanthropic themes within black metal. History Nargaroth was formed by René Wagner, also known as Ash, following the disbandment of his previous band, Exhuminenz, which included members R.S., Charoon, and Darken (not to be confused with Rob Darken of Graveland). While Wagner had previously claimed that Nargaroth was established in 1989 and had released the demo Orke in 1991 and Herbstleyd in 1993, later statements clarified that the band was officially founded in 1996. The early Nargaroth recordings, including the aforementioned demos, were completed in 1998 with Charoon on guitar and the use of a drum machine. Sam Roberts (born October 2, 1974) is a Canadian rock singer-songwriter who has released seven albums. His debut EP ''The Inhuman Condition'', reached the Canadian charts in 2002. The Guess Who
The Guess Who was a Canadian rock band formed in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1965. The band found their greatest success in the late 1960s and early 1970s, under the leadership of singer/keyboardist Burton Cummings and guitarist Randy Bachman, with hit songs including " American Woman", " These Eyes", " No Time", “ Laughing”, and “ Share the Land”. "American Woman" is a song by Canadian rock band the Guess Who, released January 1970, from the album of the same name. It was later released in March 1970 as a single backed with " No Sugar Tonight", and it reached number one for three weeks commencing May 9 on both the United States' ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and the Canadian ''RPM'' magazine singles chart. Randolph Severn "Trey" Parker III (born October 19, 1969) is an American actor, animator, writer, producer, director, and musician. He is best known for co-creating ''South Park'' (1997) and '' The Book of Mormon'' (2011) with his creative partner Matt Stone. Six Feet Under is an American death metal band from Tampa, Florida, formed in 1993. The band is currently composed of founding vocalist Chris Barnes, bassist Jeff Hughell, drummer Marco Pitruzzella, and guitarists Ray Suhy and Jack Owen. The Sweet Inspirations
The Sweet Inspirations are an American R&B girl group from Newark, New Jersey, founded by Cissy Houston who are mostly known for their work as backup singers on studio recordings for other R&B and rock artists but who are also a Grammy-nominated recording act in their own right. The group's origins went back to the late 1950s when the Gospelaires, a group which included siblings and future soul stars Dionne Warwick and sister Dee Dee Warwick as well as Sylvia Shemwell and another future soul star Doris Troy and was an offshoot of the Drinkard Singers, began a professional career as session vocalists. Cissy Houston later replaced Dionne in 1961 with Troy later being replaced by Myrna Smith in 1962 while Dee Dee was eventually replaced by Estelle Brown in 1963. Pete Seeger
Peter Seeger (May 3, 1919 – January 27, 2014) was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and social activist. He was a fixture on nationwide radio in the 1940s and had a string of hit records in the early 1950s as a member of The Weavers, notably their recording of Lead Belly's "Goodnight, Irene", which topped the charts for 14 weeks in 1950. Members of the Weavers were blacklisted during the McCarthyism, McCarthy Era.
