Snowflake Schema
In computing, a snowflake schema or snowflake model is a Logical schema, logical arrangement of tables in a multidimensional database such that the Entity-relationship model, entity relationship diagram resembles a snowflake shape. The snowflake schema is represented by centralized fact tables which are connected to multiple Dimension (data warehouse), dimensions. "Snowflaking" is a method of normalizing the dimension tables in a star schema. When it is completely normalized along all the dimension tables, the resultant structure resembles a snowflake with the fact table in the middle. The principle behind snowflaking is normalization of the dimension tables by removing low cardinality attributes and forming separate tables. The snowflake schema is similar to the star schema. Data Mart
A data mart is a structure/access pattern specific to ''data warehouse'' environments. The data mart is a subset of the data warehouse that focuses on a specific business line, department, subject area, or team. Whereas data warehouses have an enterprise-wide depth, the information in data marts pertains to a single department. In some deployments, each department or business unit is considered the ''owner'' of its data mart, including all the ''hardware'', ''software'', and ''data''. This enables each department to isolate the use, manipulation, and development of their data. Mark Levene
Mark Levene is a historian and emeritus fellow at University of Southampton. Levene's work and research focuses on genocide, Jewish history and anthropogenic climate change. His book ''The Crisis of Genocide: The European Rimlands, 1912–1953'' received the biennial Lemkin Award from the New York-based Institute for the Study of Genocide in 2015. In 2015, Dr. Peter Hilpold, a Professor at the University of Innsbruck reviewed the book. Third normal form (3NF) is a database schema design approach for relational databases which uses normalizing principles to reduce the duplication of data, avoid data anomalies, ensure referential integrity, and simplify data management. It was defined in 1971 by Edgar F. Codd, an English computer scientist who invented the relational model for database management.
