Smoking In Association Football
The issue of smoking in association football is a historical controversy. Traditionally, football managers would smoke on the touch-line as well as players smoking away from the pitch. However, increasing public health concerns and stricter regulations have led to widespread smoking restrictions in football. Smoking is now largely banned from stadiums around the world, but some individual players and managers have continued to smoke. Wilf McGuinness
Wilfred McGuinness (born 25 October 1937) is an English former football player and manager, who played for Manchester United and twice for England in his short playing career. McGuinness succeeded Sir Matt Busby as manager of Manchester United in 1969. Following his tenure at the Manchester United bench, McGuinness had a four-year stay in Greece, leading Panachaiki through their first appearance in a European competition, the 1973–74 UEFA Cup. McGuinness' son Paul was Manchester United's U18 team manager and assistant director of their youth academy for 17- to 21-year-olds. Ricardo La Volpe
Ricardo Antonio La Volpe Guarchoni (; born 6 February 1952) is an Argentine former professional footballer and manager. He is a World Cup-winning goalkeeper who played for most of his career in Argentina and Mexico. As a coach, La Volpe was in charge of both the Mexico and Costa Rica national teams, coaching the former at the 2006 World Cup.
